Jim Dandy in Tipton

I was impressed! Looks fairly new or updated their decor. Clean restaurant, good food with decent prices, the waitress was super polite and made sure we were happy. Will definitely come back.

Would have been 5 stars, but they close too early... 8:00pm.

Standard Diner food. they do have a salad bar and a buffet that's not too bad

It's a great place to meet clients and get to know each other.

We had the breakfast buffet, the scrambled eggs were not very good, the pancakes were hard, I ordered chocolate milk, and it tasted like it was spoiled.

Buffet style comfort food. Fried chicken was very well prepared, mashed potatoes and brown gravy was good. Deconstructed Pot pie was good, but had a bit of an off taste, perhaps from the pan it was prepared in.all-in-all worth a stop!

Tonight was I first time eating here, an I loved it. The wait staff were awesome, the food was wonderful. I will definitely go back.

Lunch buffet is always great. Salad bar is always fresh. Fried chicken is very good.

Great prices, there good for a winch bite. I got the pork burger and it was really good. It takes like a sausage hamburger.

Good food, ok staff. I felt like I was troubling them by asking for a refill. Food wasn't cooked all the way thru, but they fixed it. Would eat there again if I had to, just not by choice.

Nice place. Was not busy for the time we went. Ordered tenderloin and b&g the b&g was not as good as i expected. Ladies room has a changing table but not the mens room.Our server did a good job though; so there's that. Thank you.I really expect it to be better over all.Expected the breakfast bar as per the menu on the website but that was determined to be a incorrect.They were starting to set up lunch bar as we were leaving.

I do love their breakfast bar on Sunday's. But I stopped going there because they NEVER have enough chicken and I do love their chicken! Espeicaly with the breakfast bar. They say it's coming right out, and even if you order it on the side your finished with your meal by the time it comes out. Because they do takeout orders they can't keep up with the demand for chicken. I think your sit down guest should take priority. Or MAKE MORE CHICKEN! GET A BIGGER BROASTER OR FRYER ,you know the demand is there or used to be.Hire more staff. I'll go back soon I hope it's better.

This is in Tipton Indiana was poor. food was over done very dry and nasty i do not recommend this place

Love their food especially the buffet and pot roast. My wife loves the pot roast, chicken tenders and their chili. Would definitely recommend this restaurant

A nice quaint restaurant that we detoured to go to on our way back from Indy. Food came out quick but it was hot and fresh. I had the patty melt and the burger was cooked great along with having a nice crust. Coupled with reasonable prices, it's a good place to go when you want a quick bite

Interesting menu featuring highlights of mid West cuisine. Got the pork tenderloin which was twice the size if the bun, a bit dry but tasty. Have really big soda drinks too!

Wednesdays only...creamy potato soup! That alone is worth going for. And it's really cheap for carry out.

Excellent buffet. Food was hot and staff still gave you service even though we got the buffet. Good experience.

It was good but they just don't have much of a menu like they use to have.They don't even have soup now.

We visited mid-week, mid-afternoon. It was slow, the staff was friendly enough. Convenient location and a simple menu.Everything was fine, nothing outstanding or exciting. There was something floating in my grandfather's water glass, so I asked for a clean glass. The dishwasher might need to be repaired. We weren't expecting dishware to be sparkling, but that was pretty gross.

The only reason I gave 2 stars is because the service was good. Food on the buffet was cold, eggs were watery and cold. Biscuits were hard. I think ordering off the menu would have been a better choice.

Food was outstanding and everyone was very nice. Hadn't been to any Jim Dandy' s for years. We plan on making it a regular stop next time we are in Tipton.

They have a nice but small breakfast buffet with fried mush biscuits and gravy plus bacon sausage diced potatoes pancakes u get the idea...And there lunch and dinner buffets are awesome as well

Great chicken

We both got the meatloaf. One plate with sides the other Manhattan style, which was Texas toast, mashed potatoes and gravy all over it. It was really good. They grill the meatloaf slices so it's crispy and yummy. Wait staff were friendly and food came out fast and hot.

Local tradition. I've never lived in Tipton but I've traveled thru most of my life and this place hasn't changed in 35 years.

If you're into home style cooking the buffet might be for you. A sufficient salad bar, two soups, and meatloaf type food and several fried (chicken or fish) entrees. Off the menu, I had the patty melt (with onions of course). It came on rye bread, very rye. Not a bad sandwich but the bread definitely overpowered the patty. I didn't see a Reuben sandwich on the menu but the rye bread would be great for it. Lunch buffet was $8.99 on a Friday, my sandwich, fries and drink set me back $11 plus a tip.
